Waste Management Charity Golf Classic in Ottawa, Canada
I had the great opportunity to represent Staff Management | SMX at the 8th Annual Waste Management Charity Golf Classic last week in Ottawa, Canada. This was Staff Management’s fourth time participating in the event – which is held in a different market that Waste Management services each year. The Charity Golf Classic provides a chance for Waste Management’s supplier partners to come together to raise money for local charities. Last year’s event went to benefit charities in upstate New York, while this year’s event raised $375,000 for local charities in the Ottawa, Canada area. The charities include a woman’s shelter, food banks and a medical facility that is using the donation to acquire an x-ray device.
Waste Management generously puts on the event, and 100% of the donations from the Waste Management supplier partners that are invited to participate go directly to the charities. We are proud to be among the suppliers invited to participate – we always have a great time and jump at the chance to participate in meaningful charity events such as this. One of our customer-sponsored attendees, Bill Cole, President, Waste Management Safety Services, even got his first hole-in-one! I, however, did not fare as well.
As a company servicing the needs of communities across North America, Waste Management strives to be a good corporate citizen. This includes becoming involved with local and companywide organizations that are working hard to address community concerns. Waste Management actively supports many events and celebrations. Whether extending its service to these special events, helping to host them or providing employee volunteers, WM is involved in activities that help make communities safer, stronger, better and more fun! Staff Management is proud to have a relationship with such a remarkable organization.
