Post-Peak 2022 Report: Looking ahead after a challenging season

March 24, 2022 Casey Nighbor

As hopeful as we all were at the beginning of 2021 with the vaccine on the horizon, the pandemic continued to take its ugly toll on operations this peak season.

The worker shortage, supply chain issues, Omicron surge and subsequent burnout of employees led to the perfect storm of challenges.

Despite being more prepared this year than last, operations still had to bear the brunt of circumstances outside their control including COVID absences, not being able to get raw materials and not being able to find qualified employees.

We wanted to check-in with employers post-peak to find out what challenges they experienced this peak season and how the lessons learned from the 2021 peak season will shape future peaks.
