October Employment Trends Report [Infographic]
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), total non-farm payroll employment added 142,000 jobs in September. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.1% this month. Over the past three months, total non-farm payroll employment gains have averaged 167,000 per month. So far in 2015, job growth has averaged 198,000 per month.
The health care sector saw the largest gains in September with 34,000 jobs added while professional and business services came in second, adding 31,000 jobs. Temporary help services showed little change compared to August 2015.
