July 2016 Employment Trends Report [Infographic]

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), total nonfarm payroll employment added 287,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate rose to 4.9%. Over the past three months, total nonfarm payroll employment gains have averaged 147,000 per month compared to an average of 199,000 per month over the last 12 months.

The leisure and hospitality sector saw the largest gains in June with 59,000 jobs added, while the health care sector came in second, adding 39,000 jobs. Despite a .5% decrease from May, the temporary help services sector was up .6% from June 2015. Year-to-year staffing job growth averaged 1.5% over the past 12 months.
