December 2016 Employment Trends [Infographic]

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), total nonfarm payroll employment added 178,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate decreased to 4.6%. Over the past three months, total nonfarm payroll employment gains have averaged 176,000 per month compared to an average of 196,300 per month over the last 12 months.

The professional and business services sector saw the largest gains in November with 63,000 jobs added while the health care sector came in second, adding 28,000 jobs. The temporary help services sector was up .5% from October and 1.9% from November 2015. Year-to-year staffing job growth averaged 1.9% over the past 12 months.
