StaffTrack was engineered to provide the granular workforce management functionality required by Staff Management | SMX’s primary market segment – companies with high-volume and/or high-volatility usage in the manufacturing and distribution segment. This segment is widely viewed as one of the most difficult staffing segments to serve. One key reason for this perception is the need for real-time data for shift-by-shift, line-by-line workforce management. 

Staff Management | SMX built StaffTrack to provide the workforce and performance management functionality critical for its market segment. StaffTrack  offers key functionality that no staffing or Vendor Management System (VMS) provider offers for this segment with advanced scheduling capabilities, analytics surrounding workforce management and performance, comprehensive drill down capabilities for interactive auditing, invoicing and hours validation.  

Manufacturing & Distribution's Vendor Management System (VMS) Functionality Gap
As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Staff Management | SMX has found that VMS providers tend to be focused on mega contingent workforce buyers rather than on developing the functionality to meet the needs of Staff Management | SMX’s market segment or the small to mid-size contingent workforce buyer. Additionally, Staff Management | SMX has found that there are limitations to the client specific enhancements possible to bridge the VMS functionality gap due to overarching VMS provider development strategy.  

StaffTrack.net - Bridging the Gap
As a result of this VMS functionality gap, Staff Management | SMX often relies on StaffTrack as an alternative to a VMS to manage its MSP and other Contingent Workforce Management (CWM) solutions. When appropriate, based on client environment and requirements, Staff Management | SMX will deploy a leading third party VMS as a stand-alone program automation solution or in combination with StaffTrack.net when an integrated solution for granular workforce management is required.

Recently Staff Management | SMX has undertaken a multi-million dollar investment to further enrich its StaffTrack  functionality to include standard VMS functionality. Staff Management | SMX will continue to recommend the inclusion of a third party VMS in its MSP solutions for large clients with complex CWM programs. However, when client functionality requirements dictate or for small to mid-size buyers that don’t require advanced VMS functionality, Staff Management | SMX will present the StaffTrack Workforce and Vendor Management System (WVMS) as an alternative to a traditional VMS.
