Recent Good News From the Seaton Companies
We have had lots of good news over the past month. On January 30th The Seaton Companies, which include Staff Management | SMX, PeopleScout and StudentScout, reported a fourth quarter 2013 revenue increase of 30 percent year over year. Strong organic growth was reported, largely driven by successful implementation of existing client expansions and new client engagements.
On January 31st, Patrick Beharelle, Seaton CEO, attended a White House summit, along with 20 other CEO’s of top US Companies, to meet with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to discuss new ways to provide paths toward employment for qualified, long-term unemployed job seekers. This advisory group developed a set of best practices in the form of a pledge, signed by more than 300 companies and counting, to remove barriers to employment for qualified job-seekers who have faced long term unemployment.
Seaton CEO Patrick Beharelle commented, “I am pleased to lend Seaton’s recruitment experience and expertise to lead the way in developing new best practices that benefit people who have been, so far, facing challenging hurdles in the job market. At Seaton, our mission continues to be one of finding new ways to connect qualified candidates with employers who have unmet hiring needs. Signing this pledge is just the next step on an ongoing path to meet our commitment.”
The White House summit also highlighted promising models to connect long-term unemployed job seekers to work, including Skills for Chicagoland’s Future (SCF). Patrick Beharelle is on the SCF board and has been a driving force in developing new, demand driven practices for recruiting and hiring long-term unemployed in Chicago. Last month, Seaton hosted Secretary of Labor, Thomas Perez for an overview of the program where the discussion was taken to the national level.
On February 3rd, Seaton announced the company’s first ever acquisition. Seaton acquired HRX, a leading recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) provider headquarted in Sydney, Australia. This acquisition significantly extends the current global RPO leadership position of the PeopleScout division. HRX will become one of Seaton’s brands and will operate as HRX, a PeopleScout Company. The Seaton organization now has more than 44,000 employees serving over 200 clients across 71 countries.
“The combination of our PeopleScout division and HRX will bring tangible benefits to RPO clients in the form of enhanced sourcing technology, expanded service offerings, and additional global reach,” commented Patrick Beharelle, Seaton CEO. “This is the first acquisition Seaton has made in the 25 years we’ve been in business. We’ve looked at dozens of acquisitions over our history and firmly believe that HRX represents the best strategic opportunity for Seaton, its employees and its clients.”
