Employees Win Gas for a Year
Five Staff Management/SMX employees each won a year’s supply of gas for their vehicle during a promotion for contingent workers at facilities in Hebron, KY, Campbellsville, KY, and Coffeyville, KS.
Staff Management and SMX, providers of on-premise staffing and management solutions, offered the raffle to attract over 5,000 workers during the peak season of their client. The companies gave employees the chance to win $2,000 to fill their tanks with gas – enough for the entire year. In order to qualify for the raffle, employees needed to maintain perfect attendance during the season.
One of the lucky employees to win free gas for a year was Charles Sterling, who worked in the stocking department at the facility in Campbellsville, Ky. Mr. Sterling had perfect attendance and volunteered for additional hours throughout the peak season. Staff Management randomly selected his name from among employees who had perfect attendance at the site.
“When Charles got his money he took his family to Naples, Fla., to visit his father whom he had not seen in over two years,” said Senior Account Manager George Rodgers. “He was very grateful to get the opportunity to see his family.”
Night shift associate Mariah Adams was very excited to be the raffle winner at a facility in Hebron, Ky. “Her response over the phone was speechlessness at first,” said Senior Account Manager Brenda Wooldridge. “This was the first time she has ever won anything like this before.” Mariah said she’s had a great experience with SMX and absolutely loves working for the company.
The free-gas-for-a-year promotion came in addition to silent auctions held at each of the client’s 14 sites. Throughout the peak season, employees were awarded “Safety and Attendance Bucks” based on attendance, quality work, productivity and safety. The employees then used the “Bucks” to bid on a variety of prizes at the end of the season.
The raffle and auctions were a big hit among the associates and managers alike. “The client manager at the Hebron site thought the giveaway was an innovative idea and hopes to see more ideas targeted for rewarding attendance in the future,” said Ms. Wooldridge.
