This $15 billion entity is a leading provider of comprehensive trash and waste removal, recycling, and environmentally safe waste management services. Headquartered in Houston, Waste Management's network of operations enables it to offer its services to nearly 20 million residential, industrial, municipal, and commercial customers.

But the company is not just about removing trash. Its goal is to help the current environmental movement by recycling and reducing the amount of garbage that goes into landfills. The company seeks to make a positive difference for the environment in every aspect of its business.

Helping Waste Management carry out its mission are its nearly 5,000 contingent workers. The bulk of them are light industrial workers who remove trash and work in Waste Management's transfer stations, active landfill disposal sites, and recycling facilities. "Our contingent worker strategy is really an extension of our corporate goals to continue to grow and expand our recycling facilities," says Ed Codd, senior director of Waste Management's vendor management program.
