Lessons from Sara Lee: Staffing Supplier Sourcing & Management Strategy for Your MSP Program was a session presented at the 2011 HRO Today Forum in Las Vegas, NV. The interactive panel was presented by Jenny Reints, Senior Director, Global Supplier Management for Staff Management | SMX, and Patty LaValle-Jones, Director of Procurement for Marketing and HR Services, Sara Lee Corporation. This session features commentary on how to effectively source and manage staffing suppliers within a global MSP program.

The session discussed the evolution of Staff Management | SMX and Sara Lee's staffing supplier sourcing strategy from a small network of large global staffing providers to a larger network of local staffing suppliers. When the Managed Service Provider (MSP) program was implemented, Sara Lee set supplier sourcing strategy while as the MSP Staff Management | SMX implemented and managed the supply base. As the program and partnership progressed Staff Management | SMX has taken the lead in setting supplier sourcing strategy.

As a result of a recent sourcing initiative, Staff Management | SMX increased Sara Lee’s supply base from a handful of global suppliers to more than twenty five suppliers. Each site has up to three suppliers, many of them local, awarded based on volume and ability to meet contractual terms.
